The Work We Take On
Most of the houses we get called to in Paradise and the surrounding area, Magalia, Butte Valley, Forest Ranch, Durham, Thermalito, Kelly Ridge, Oroville, Oroville East, South Oroville, and Richvale, were built between 1963 and 1990, with a lot of that stock going up in the mid-70s. That means torsion springs sized for the doors that were standard then, tracks that have usually been re-hung at least once, and openers that have been swapped out a generation or two past whatever came with the house.
We take on spring replacement, cable and roller repair, track alignment, opener installs and repairs, and full door replacement. We work on steel, wood, and aluminum panel doors, sectional and one-piece. If your door is sticking, slamming, off-track, or the opener is grinding instead of lifting, that's the kind of call we want.
For a phone or online quote to actually mean something, we need the door's width and height, whether it's a single or double, roughly how old it is, and what's actually wrong, won't open, opens partway, makes noise, remote doesn't work. A photo of the springs and the track helps more than a description usually does. What we can't do is give you a firm number on a spring job without knowing the door's weight and spring wire size, since those numbers directly change the price.
Who Does the Work
We don't run a call center that dispatches to subcontractors. The person who quotes your job is familiar with the kind of hardware that shows up in houses built in this area from the 1960s through the 1980s, including torsion setups on older side-mounted drums that newer parts don't always fit cleanly. That matters here because a lot of the housing stock in Paradise and the towns around it hasn't been fully updated, so the door in front of us is often not the door that would've shipped with a house built today.
We don't advertise a staff count, and we're not going to make one up to sound bigger than we are. What we can tell you is that we work within the service area described above, we look at the actual door before we commit to a repair versus replace recommendation, and we don't upsell a full door swap when a spring and a set of rollers will get you another decade of use.
What We Do Not Take On
We don't do new construction framing or rough-in carpentry, if the opening itself needs to be built or reframed, that's a job for a general contractor, and we come in after the opening exists. We don't do gate systems, commercial rolling steel doors, or fire doors; our work is residential garage doors and openers.
We also won't quote a firm price sight-unseen on anything involving bent track, a door that's come off its hinges, or damage from an impact, those jobs vary too much door to door to price over the phone, and giving you a number we can't stand behind isn't a favor to you. If your opener is more than a couple of decades old and the door itself is original to a house built in the 1970s or earlier, we'll usually tell you straight whether repair is worth it or whether you're better off putting that money toward a new door instead.

My house is older, does that change the repair?
Often, yes. A lot of homes in this area were built from the 1960s through the 1980s, and doors and hardware from that era don't always match parts sold today. We check what's actually on the door before quoting rather than assuming a standard modern setup.
